Zazie Olivia Beetz was born Berlin in 1991. Her father was a German Cabinet Maker, who emigrated into America. United States following the fall of Berlin Wall. Beetz graduated from at the same school as Jennifer Aniston. Beetz was a student at Skidmore College to study French after completing LaGuardia. She began auditioning immediately after graduating college. After a few auditions in Atlanta, she landed the role of Van. Born in Berlin to the parents of a German father as well as an African-American mom, Beetz was raised in New York speaking both German as well as English at home. Zazie was doing shows on community and local stages in her early years. When she was in grade school she started acting, and went on to become a professional actress. Zendaya's Disney Channel Breakout Role Zendaya's dance skills definitely earned her acclaim. In 2010 the actress and dancer got her first break-out performance when she was cast in the role of Rocky Blue in the show "Shake It Up" along with co-star Bella Thorne. Zendaya, then 11, became vegetarian after she saw a slaughterhouse while on an excursion with her father. PEOPLE quotes her as saying, "It was horrible to watch all those animals waiting in that slaughterhouse." This was not how I ate my meat! Since that day she's been following an incredibly strict vegan diet.
